As a professional trainer (I own The Canine Classroom in Portland), I see a lot of German Shepherds. Zimmerhoff has the nicest German Shepherds I have worked with. So, when it came time for a new dog, I naturally went and saw Mike. My dog, Ava, is just amazing. High drive, high spirited, very protective, yet I can take her out in public and she is dog and people neutral. I cannot thank Mike enough for the wonderful dogs he breeds.
We purchased our German Shepherd puppy from Zimmerhoff in November 2024.and we couldn’t be happier. Mike welcomed us to visit the puppies beforehand. Designation
I just wanted to let you see what a wonderful dog Diga has become, not without lots of growing pains, but I just can’t imagine our world without her now. She’ll be one on the 14th and she keeps us busy but with lots of hard work and training (she and we love Troy Kyle!) she is just wonderful. And absolutely beautiful. She just had her first heat cycle but we’ll be getting her spayed later in the summer. You’ve bred some wonderful dogs and we are so glad we have one of them. Diga is loving and loyal and although she still has a couple of triggers that put her out of her mind (kids playing at a playground or a ballgame that she’s not part of) she is playful but obedient and sweet with people and other dogs. We’ll continue to train, with Troy and on our own, and it has become so much fun since she is so ready and willing to learn.
Hope the holiday season is treating you well! As we’re coming up in a year old birthday (thanks to Geeta ) Donny and I have been talking about you and wondering how you’re doing, your dogs, and especially Wildman? Koa (previously Watson) is an amazing family dog, his best fur friend is our cat Gracie, and he so quick to learn new commands and challenges. The year has flown by, and we have cherished every moment with him! Below are some pictures and I’ll attempt to send a video or two as well. We are expecting our first little munchkin in March and couldn’t be more excited that Koa is going to be a big brother! Please feel free to use our names as a reference for people who want to talk to others who have gotten dogs from you. We can’t say enough positive things about Koa.
